NTLWorld Fix I am sorry that you are unable to access www.takingthelead.co.uk . From my exhaustive enquiries I have established that there seems to be a problem with the NTLWorld proxy server at Brighton which affects its member and prevents access to the Taking the Lead website. There are a couple of solutions to this problem. 1. Trying accessing the site and then refresh your screen by holding down the control key and pressing F5. That should cause the proxy server to refresh, whereas the normal method of refreshing the page does not. 2. You can make a minor change to your Internet Explorer and alter the local proxy server. NOTE: As a safeguard – Always make a note of the original settings before altering them – just in case. a. Select tools – Internet options from the menu bar of the Internet Explorer b. Select connections c. Select LAN settings d. Tick “use a proxy server for your LAN” e. Add any one of the
following addresses - f. Ensure that the port is still 8080 g. Ensure that “Bypass proxy server for local address” is ticked h. Click OK – Click OK i. The new settings will not take affect until your Internet Explorer is closed and re-opened. That minor change has been proven successful in several cases now – if it does not then please do not hesitate to contact me. Look forward to seeing
you again on
